I think I've asked this before but can't find the answer - I've got a few suggestions of hotels for Spa, but would prefer to stay somewhere there are other grads (I'm a social animal and the tent on circuit just isn't going to cut it in October in Spa!). Where's everybody staying?

jo (dreamer) on Friday, July 03, 2009 at 23:54:27

Spa: 68 according to the always correct race-schedules now, so it should be pretty much full.....

Charles on Friday, July 03, 2009 at 18:07:10

brand new set of 4 minilite wheels and AO48s gone on items for sale. If needed I can drop off at Croft.

Lewy andrew@dalpha.co.uk on Friday, July 03, 2009 at 11:00:01

Mick, I like where you are going with the speech thing, but it turns out that father of the bride does not give a speech in American wedding tradition (or is my daughter just telling me that?). Not sure why I need to be there really!

CJ on Friday, July 03, 2009 at 10:06:00

Astonishingly, space for our Spa races is filling fast, but not yet quite full...

NF chair on Friday, July 03, 2009 at 00:39:47

Thanks for the heads up on Spa entry from the 3 club members I was with on Wednesday. :-(

Trev on Friday, July 03, 2009 at 00:25:35

CJ - send your car over with MMM...they can take it apart for spares. Again :-)

Andiih on Thursday, July 02, 2009 at 22:22:52

Yep - first time since I started Grads I haven't entered - very odd. :-(
maybe i'll change my mind if there are still places nearer the time

MikeR mike.rowland@mdr-testing.co.uk on Thursday, July 02, 2009 at 21:23:27

Commiserations CJ... an idea for you to show your pain... mention Spa 131 times in your speech :-)

Mick #43 on Thursday, July 02, 2009 at 21:07:50

Anyone want to swap their ticket to for a chance to be Father of the Bride in Chicago - Same dates - Practice Friday, Main Event Saturday, Clear Up Sunday - Genuine offers only to Whatf*****datestheweddin@wellsick.com

CJ fatherofthebride@Iwant2go2spa.com on Thursday, July 02, 2009 at 20:41:30

Not entering for Spa feels weird.

Andiih on Thursday, July 02, 2009 at 19:59:21

Tragically I'm expecting confirmation by the end of next week that I won't be able to go! But I can pretend until then... Mark

Mark Heywood mh@no5.com on Thursday, July 02, 2009 at 19:28:04

I def need to improve my technique then !! I had a GMT clock in one window whilst constantly clicking refresh on order page !! room for improvement, just like my race times :-) (my heart rate has just slowed down...)

Mick #43 on Thursday, July 02, 2009 at 19:15:44

Spa, race two:
1 - Mark Heywood - 19:00:02
2 - Tim Jump . . . . . :03
=3 - Carvey, Winrow . . :04

NF chair on Thursday, July 02, 2009 at 19:11:01

Opening for Spa entries for all Racing Members in two and a quarter hours..., here!

Nick Frost chairman at graduates dot org dot uk on Thursday, July 02, 2009 at 16:44:45

DG 4000 covered trailer just go in Items for Sale if anyone is looking for one.

Lewy andrew@dalpha.co.uk on Thursday, July 02, 2009 at 11:22:21

Bob - LOT will allow you to swap the trackday at Spa. They normally try and sell the places to those on their reserve list first but I do know they plan to make a big weekend of it, so selling vacant places will be no issue at all especially as a number of the Elise Trophy guys havent booked any track time yet.

Probably best to contact them first re the reserves

Jonathan Miller on Thursday, July 02, 2009 at 09:33:28

You are timed at entry to the enrolment page, BUT you are a reserve until payment is completed in full

Jamie webmaster on Thursday, July 02, 2009 at 08:44:36

I am unable to come to Spa this year but on the expectation that I would be entering I acquired a LOT track day. I am not sure if I am able to transfer this to any one else but should it become available please email me if interested. Enquiries taken in strict order received. Holiday Bob

Bob Wilson bobwilson300@hotmail.com on Thursday, July 02, 2009 at 08:17:19

Funny, that looks exactly like my car after Andy had removed all the worn-out bits. Though he did mention that it could really do with a long front, but I "might" get away with it.

Roger on Wednesday, July 01, 2009 at 23:54:20

...appears to be on a lead. :-O

Bunter on Wednesday, July 01, 2009 at 22:29:18

Caterham Undergraduate ?

Andiih on Wednesday, July 01, 2009 at 20:18:25

I didn't finish until 7.03 so I assume the time is when you first click on the entry page.

Bill on Wednesday, July 01, 2009 at 19:36:40

And looking at the podium - just how do you manage to enter your debit card number, issue number, security number, expiry date, name on card and all that in a second or even 3 seconds? Its not possible. Something you lot know that I don't quite clearly.

Martin Amison mamison@trowers.com on Wednesday, July 01, 2009 at 19:17:52

And while I think of it - Andy Ennis YHM re your Bongo.

Bill on Wednesday, July 01, 2009 at 19:16:06

Thanks Nick, I'd assumed I was in but you never can tell with the speed of some people round here :-D

Bill on Wednesday, July 01, 2009 at 19:14:46

you must have been queueing in the members area for an hour...

Martin Amison mamison@trowers.com on Wednesday, July 01, 2009 at 19:08:13

Bill - no need to cross fingers, everyone who has priority status and enters before 7pm tomorrow is assured of a place. You were 8th, 13 seconds off pole.

NF chair on Wednesday, July 01, 2009 at 19:07:41

Now if I could only transfer my clicking speed to race speed :-)

Jonathan Miller on Wednesday, July 01, 2009 at 19:06:49

And your Spa winners are:
1) Jonathan Miller with a very impressive 19:00:01
2) Charles Fitzhugh 19:00:02
3) Me!!! 19:00:03

Nick Frost chairman at graduates dot org dot uk on Wednesday, July 01, 2009 at 19:05:14

Fingers crossed I'm not a reserve this year.

Bill on Wednesday, July 01, 2009 at 19:03:28

Speaking of SPA our on-line race entry system opens in just over one hour, for "priority" Racing Members - 7pm tomorrow for all others.

Nick Frost chairman at graduates dot org dot uk on Wednesday, July 01, 2009 at 17:59:17

I've just cancelled my LOT trackday at Spa as I'm not going to be going :-( Anyway, not sure if there is a waiting list, but if not there might be one more place becoming available today.

Andiih on Wednesday, July 01, 2009 at 11:07:22

Great! I need some more glasses for my bishopy booze cabinet!

Bish on Wednesday, July 01, 2009 at 09:39:00

Boxing Day: The organizers tell me that, assuming that enough Grads enter, there will be class prizes for best Grads.

Nick Frost chair on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 21:23:37

Safety Devices "tall" cage in for sale section. Freshly blasted and powdercoated. 300 pounds. Open to reasonable offers as it's taking up valuable space!

Dave Pearson on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 17:20:06

Boxing Day - probably a "sports car" race this year, rather than just Grads - Ginettas, Westfields, MX5s, etc

Graeme on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 13:27:10

Re Glass: Yes I'll have spares at Croft, £50 fitted

Ben info@classiccarworkshop.co.uk on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 12:59:00

Had me worried for a minute thought they had moved Boxing Day

Santa Claus Santa Claus@northpole.com on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 12:56:54

"Plum Pudding" races at Mallory on Boxing Day? Yes, on 26th Dec.

Nick Frost chair on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 12:10:36

Plum Pudding question (Yes I know it's a tad early!!) - Is this always on the 26th? We are looking to book a break over Xmas and might just start looking for flights on the 27th inadvertently! :-)

Jonathan Miller on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 12:06:52

thanks all - might give CC another call then and enquire about race glass only. I don't run my car on the road, so MOT issue not a problem. On a seperate note - just received this e-mail link in case anyone thought the Jacko jokes had run dry (if it works)

Will on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 11:37:25

...but if the damage was done on a race track, mightn't that be a bit fraudualant (or at least cheeky)?

Graeme on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 11:11:53

If you have road-going insurance, you may find that a new screeen is covered and will cost only £50, fitted.

NF chair on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 11:10:21

I just take the 'screen off at MOT time to save any potential hassle...

Graeme on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 10:40:25

May be wrong, but I think it'll pass an MOT just not an SVA test. Certainly I've never had a problem with MOTs and "race" glass. Ben Rockey usually carries spare screens if you want to wait until the next meeting rather than having CC post one.

Roger on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 10:38:13

Will - Caterham do sell glass on its own (part number 76050) but it is a 'race part' only as it won't pass an MOT, you should be able to order it online from their website.

McMillan Motorsport info@mcmm.co.uk on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 10:29:24

does anyone have a spare windscreen for a classic that they would like to sell me/ or know where I can buy just the glass at a non rip-off price? Caterham only sell screen with frame at about £300, and autoglass have quoted similar. thanks

Will willshirtcliffe@hotmail.com on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 10:14:10

Those fast hands remind me of seeing the blurred image of Michael Flately's clever little booties in 'River Dance' Perhaps you sould put some traditional Irish music to it Doc??

Bish on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 08:54:32

not so much a 'catch', more a 'let go'!
