Teng Tools Competition: Please note
that a day's marshalling is a mandatory requirement for our 2009 "Teng Tools"
award. And that to be eligible those points had to be claimed by
submitting the claim from to BARC before 6th September. Our points table
on our web-site has been updated to show all points thus claimed and only those
drivers listed in our "Teng" tables are now eligible for it.
Anyone who wants to earn point toward their championship total
has until this coming Saturday (13th Sept) to get their claim forms to
BARC. Note that all marshalling needs to have been done before 29th
August to be eligible.

As many of you already know I work for a company who sell safety equipment for race cars. I have been asked by a few people about FIA approved underwear for Spa..... As far as I am aware we will have to have full FIA approved fireproof underwear .......not sure how and if they will check it, maybe those of you who have been before will let us know.
Anyway just to say that if you need or would like to order any I will be happy to help. We only stock the alpinestars range of clothing at the moment. I have all the ZT gear in stock and can order anything that's not in stock. I will bring a selection to Cadwell for people to look at if interested.............I get my knuckles wrapped for giving discounts, but as I race with you lot and am part of the club, I am sure we can arrange a club discount! :)
I hope that I am allowed to post this on here. I just thought it might help some of you. If it's breaking any rules - I'm sorry!!
check out my website for more details....
Thanks

Spa entry status: The full list is shown
below. I have written to all those on the Reserve list to remind them of
the "rules" with regard dropping out, being upgraded, turning up in hope of a
place becoming available, etc. etc.
But it would be a great help to all
of us to know how many of those drivers with "full entries" are fully committed to going and how many may drop
out (remember that anyone with a full entry can drop out and get a £400 refund,
but only if there is still a reserve waiting to take your place).
You had to make your "on-line Schedule" entry "Definitely" in order
to submit an entry for Spa, but you can now change it. Please could
all drivers with Spa "full" entries consider their
position and perhaps alter their Schedule accordingly:
- If you are committed to going
to Spa, almost regardless, leave your entry as it is -
ie. Definitely (although I accept that some may
be thinking "unless I trash my car at Cadwell," but let's just ignore that for
now and hope it doesn't happen!)
- If you are very
probably going to go to Spa, but are not quite certain, please change your
Schedule to "Very Probably"
- If you entered "just in
case" you decided to race, but are still unsure, please change your Schedule
to "Don't know"
- If you now think it
very unlikely that you will go, please change your Schedule to
"Very Unlikely"

If you are
not on the above list, you have not entered! It's never

I believe 25s was 'drive through' equivalent - as there is now a question as to whether a drive through is appealable. In my mind, a lot of the issue comes down to as to whether KR should have given LH any room at all; which he clearly didn't in the second part of the bus stop.

FIA and Ferrari cheat consistently and have done for years. They don't like Dennis, and don't like MClaren.
There was nothing wrong with that move. Kimi forced Lewis off. Lewis let him back past, Kimi then stuffed it off all on his own....there are many reasons that Lewis should not have been penalised.
Its an absolute joke - and so blatant it embarrasses the sport, and us fans.
I hope so much that Lewis wins it anyway - as it was stolen from him last year (another case of Ferrari cheating)
As i said on the 'other' forum - the only hope is that Massa will bin it on his own because he is rubbish, and not deserving of a world title.

Kimi seemed really unsure of what line to take at the end of the straight and that indecision cost him the place IMO. How did they work out where to put Lewis? Was it a 10 second penalty or the time equivalent of a drive-through. Or was it just a random penalty?

Spa/Hamilton: I'm inclined to think we should wait for the outcome of the appeal - or am I ridiculously naive to think that the decision may be reversed? It seems clear to me that Hamilton had properly allowed Raikkonen back in front after short-cutting the "bus stop" but it is perhaps arguable that his subsequent move on Kimi into La Source three seconds later was all part of the same manoeuvre and that he thus took unfair advantage. Dunno. But I would have expected the FIA to take into account that a minute later KR had managed to get back into P1 and had thrown it into the wall all by himself - difficult to claim that this happened as a result of the La Source pass eight corners earlier...
But it's a good circuit, innit?

Yeah, i'd agree with that. A drop down the grid at the next race would've probably been better, but would that have been seen as pro-Ferrari? It is Monza after all!

Not wanting to poke my head above the parapet, but i thought the way Lewis just let Kimi past and then immediately re-took the place was very unfair. Kimi was obviously expecting to be unchallenged going into La Source, hence why he retook the racing line. And as for being "shoved off the track" by Kimi; Lewis had every chance to lift and slot in behind for the exit of the chicane. But no, he chose to cut the corner, gained an advantage, and then took the place immediately back. Very unsporting and for me, that is worse than any behind the scenes Ferrari bias.
BTW for the record, i hate Ferrari. Always have done, but i thought Lewis' move was particularly iffy.

This farce really does make you wonder how much cash The Italian Reds through at F1 officials Wine & Dine ETC, seems like the steam roller that is F1 is more like a political party than a sport with a governing body. Ron Dennis Fight on. One of the true gentleman of F1 and gets shot at by to many idiots and may we say Biased at the least supposed officials. Could you imagine this happening in Indy Car or Nascar! There would be a lynch mob at the gates.
If they do not put an end to this very soon i can see McLaren & Mercedes walking away from the whole lot and who could blame them!. Ecclestone all though building a flagging sport into an empire has got to get control of this lot before all creditability is lost.
The comments on American news and motorsport commentators last night just about sum up the situation “Is F1 run for Ferrari “

How the other half lives "... top end rebuilds (2K) and full rebuilds (4K) ... You can get away with an engine rebuild every 2 years I think although it is more common to do it once a year, more often if you're rolling in it ... Gearbox rebuild is around £350 and should last a season." A season?? Mine's not been touched in five years of racing! Sounds like some of those guys spend more on engine rebuilds than some of us spend on an entire year's racing.

Cadwell timetable change: If you
have entered, you should soon receive a revised timetable in the mail from BARC
which shows some slight changes (which have not, as yet, made it into BARC's
on-line timetable): - First practice at 9am is now Classics
only
- Supers-only practice is at 9.50
- Megas practice brought forward from
11.10 to 10.45
- Supers qualy race (also for Megas, if necessary) is
race 1 at 12.05 (20 min race)
Each of our classes' main races is re-timed for 25 minutes
instead of 20 minutes (hurrah!)
- Classics-only race is scheduled for 12.40
- Supers at 14.45
- Megas at 16.00
Thanks to BARC for deciding to combine the two poorly attended
MG races and thus gain the time for Supers(/Megas) to have a stand-alone qualy
race and longer races for all. (Note that the qualy race has
not been extended)
